Rules and regulations in our library

1. Membership, renting books, magazines and DVD's from the American Corner Bitola are free, with becoming a member. Necessary documents for becoming a member are ID or Passport. Young people under 18 can become members using the ID from one of their parents.

2. The deadline for returning books is 14 days, 7 days for a magazine and no more than 2 days for DVD's. Every member can rent only 3 things at a time (regardless if it is a book, magazine or DVD). If the deadline for returning an item is a Holiday, you can return it the next working day without sending any notice.

3. If you want to expand the deadline for your rented items, you can contact us by email: bitola@americancornersnmk.org or by phone at +389 47 203 326 by giving us your name and surname as well as a membership number.

4. The deadline for rented books, magazines and DVD's can be expanded only once, in the timeline explained in the first point.

5. If something from the rented items gets destroyed or lost while they are in the ownership of the member, it is recommended that they get replaced with something else by the member as a donation. In case of not respecting this rule, the members will lose membership in the American Corner Bitola.

7. If you need professional literature for research or schoolwork, we recommend that you become a member of our Library and gain temporary access to our large and rich online database https://elibraryusa.state.gov

8. IMPORTANT: If a member is late on returning items from the library, American Corner Bitola can temporarily suspend the ability of the member to rent new items for the same timeline as the item which was delayed on returning.


9. In the period where there is a presentation, event at the Corner, TOEFL exam or you are not able to return the items personally, you can drop off the items in the Dropbox next to the door. We will identify the returned items at our earliest convenience. (Please, do not leave your membership card into the returned books, we will identify you by the loaned headline).
